Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday made serious allegations against the Election Commission. He accused the Election Commission of rigging the voter list. In a press conference held in Delhi, Rahul cited the voter list of Mahadevpura assembly seat falling under Bengaluru Central seat. He alleged that the voter list of this seat was manipulated in five ways. The Leader of Opposition alleged that 60 to 80 voters are registered at the address of a one-room house. He alleged that fraud was also done through the form to be filled for adding name in the voter list as a new voter and the same person filled several Form-6 in the span of a few months. He also alleged that very small photographs of many voters were put in the voter list and meaningless names of many fathers were registered. BJP’s PC Mohan won the Bangalore Central seat in the Lok Sabha elections held last year. Congress’ Mansoor Ali Khan had to be content with the second position. At that time, a total of 24 lakh 34 thousand 254 voters were registered on the Bangalore Central seat. 13 lakh 16 thousand 510 voters exercised their franchise on this seat. Out of these, 13 lakh four thousand 384 votes were found valid. Out of these, PC Mohan got 6 lakh 58 thousand 915 votes. Congress’ Mansoor Ali Khan got 6 lakh 26 thousand 208 votes. In this way, PC Mohan defeated Mansoor Ali Khan by 32 thousand 707 votes. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that Mahadevpura assembly seat falling under Bengaluru Central seat had 11956 duplicate voters, 40009 wrong or illegal addresses, 10452 voters with multiple vote registrations at the same address, 4132 votes with invalid photos and 33691 cases of misuse of Form 6. According to Rahul Gandhi, a total of 100250 such voters are registered in the voter list of Mahadevpura assembly seat.

How many assembly seats are there in Bengaluru Central seat

A total of eight assembly seats come under Bengaluru Central seat. These are – Sarvangnanagar, CV Raman Nagar, Shivajinagar, Shantinagar, Gandhinagar, Rajajinagar, Chamarajapet and Mahadevpura. A total of 3 lakh 85 thousand 615 votes were registered in the voter list of Sarvangnanagar. On the other hand, 2 lakh 70 thousand 318 votes are registered in CV Raman Nagar seat. 2 lakh 912 votes were registered in Shivajinagar, 2 lakh 30 thousand 426 in Shanti Nagar, 2 lakh 34 thousand 185 in Gandhinagar, 2 lakh 8 thousand 391 in Rajajinagar, 2 lakh 44 thousand 580 in Chamarajapet and 6 lakh 59 thousand 826 votes were registered in Mahadevapura. In the voter list of Mahadepura, where Rahul Gandhi has alleged rigging, more than 25 percent of the total voters of Bengaluru Central constituency are in the voter list. In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had got a lead in Sarvangnanagar, Shivajinagar, Shantinagar and Chamarajapet assembly seats. BJP had got a lead in CV Raman Nagar, Gandhinagar, Rajajinagar and Mahadevapura assembly seats.

Congress had got a lead of 72 thousand 244 votes in Sarvangnanagar. In CV Raman Nagar, BJP got 20 thousand 114 votes, in Shivajinagar Congress got 27 thousand 510 votes, in Shantinagar Congress got 20 thousand 338 votes, in Gandhinagar BJP got 23 thousand 324 votes, in Rajajinagar BJP got 39 thousand 429 votes, in Chamarajapet Congress got 42 thousand 953 votes and in Mahadevpura BJP got a lead of 1 lakh 14 thousand 46 votes.

Rahul’s allegations on Mahadevpura result

Rahul Gandhi had alleged that 1,00,250 votes were stolen in Mahadevpura assembly seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He had alleged that votes were stolen in five ways in Mahadevpura assembly seat. These include 11,965 duplicate voters (name of a voter being present in multiple places in the voter list), 40,009 voters with fake and invalid addresses, 10,452 bulk or large number of voters registered at the same address, 4,132 voters with fake photos and 33,692 voters who misused Form-6 to be filled as new voters. Rahul Gandhi alleges that the Election Commission and BJP are stealing the election together.
