Actually, Dhangauri Baraulia, a resident of Ishanpur, Ahmedabad, had come with her family to visit Gangotri. Due to the massive disaster in Dharali on August 5, the road was completely closed due to sudden debris and strong currents. In such a situation, she got stuck there with her family.

Relief and rescue operations started rapidly under the leadership of CM Dhami. Rescue teams made continuous efforts even in difficult conditions and brought Dhangauri and her family out safely. For the first time, a smile of relief came on the faces trembling with fear.

On Friday, when Chief Minister Dhami was inspecting the disaster-affected areas by staying at ground zero for three consecutive days, Dhangauri could not hold back her gratitude. There were tears in her eyes. In such a situation, she went forward, tore the edge of her saree and tied a piece of it on the Chief Minister’s wrist as a Rakhi.

While tying the Rakhi, she got emotional and said, “For me you are like Lord Krishna …”

While tying the Rakhi, she said, “For me Chief Minister Dhami is like Lord Krishna. Who has protected not only me, but all the mothers and sisters present here like a brother. He has been taking care of our safety and needs by staying among us for three days.”

Chief Minister Dhami also held the woman’s hand and assured her that as a brother, he would stand with the sisters affected by the disaster in every situation. Also, every possible help will be given by the state government.
