On Monday, August 11, the Meteorological Department had issued a three-hour rain alert in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun. During this time, Dehradun received heavy rainfall. The entire city of Dehradun was flooded in three hours of rain. Rivers and streams were in spate, some videos of which have also surfaced. Water has also come up to the Bindal river bridge. Apart from this, in a video, some cattle are also seen floating in the overflowing drain.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding rain for the next three hours i.e. from 1 pm to 4 pm today. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a high possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall and intense to very intense spells/storms/lightning in different places like Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Kashipur, Ranikhet, Kotdwar and their surrounding areas in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar.

Flood like situation in many areas of Dehradun: The most havoc of rain will be seen in Nalapani area of Dehradun. More than half a dozen cows are seen floating one after the other. During this, the cows are also seen struggling to get out of the water, but the flow of water was so fast that no one had the courage to save the cows.

Water entered the power house: A similar picture has also emerged from IT Park, the industrial area of ​​Dehradun. Here too, after heavy rains, the roads had turned into rivers. The speed of water in a power house of IT Park was frightening. There is news of water entering the houses in some areas of Dehradun, while the roads in the streets and neighborhoods have also turned into ponds. The passers-by coming and going here are also facing problems.

Tamsa river in spate: The Tamsa river flowing below the ancient Tapkeshwar temple of Dehradun was also in spate on Monday, August 11. Due to the increase in the water level of the Tamsa river, water had entered the temple. A part of the temple is seen submerged in water. Usually this temple is very crowded on Mondays, but the water level of the Tamsa river passing behind the temple is so high that people have been banned from going near the temple.

Highways are getting closed at many places due to heavy rains in the hilly districts. The Jawadi bypass road in Rudraprayag district has been blocked due to falling stones from the mountains, which is being tried to open. Apart from this, the road near Bhatwadi Sain near Tehsil Rudraprayag has been blocked again, which is being tried to open. At the same time, the Badrinath highway was also closed near Bhanerpani in Chamoli district, which was opened.

At the same time, if the Meteorological Department is to be believed, there is no possibility of getting relief from rain in Uttarakhand right now. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Uttarakhand for the next three days, for which the Meteorological Department has also issued an alert. The weather department has appealed to people to cancel their travel plans for the time being and to step out of their homes only if it is absolutely necessary.
