The district administration has taken major action against Subharti College, issuing a recovery warrant for ₹87.50 crore. This action comes after it was revealed that the institution had been charging full fees from approximately 300 students for six years despite lacking the necessary infrastructure for proper education.
College Management Was Constantly Violating Regulations
According to sources, the college management consistently violated regulations, which not only affected the students’ future but also caused significant losses to government revenue. Taking this entire matter seriously, the district administration has made it clear that the misappropriation of public funds will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The administration has stated that if the outstanding amount is not paid soon, the college’s bank accounts may be frozen within the next few days. Action will also be taken to seize the college’s assets.
Administration Orders Preparation of Detailed Report on Defaulters
The Director of Medical Education has also sent a formal recommendation to the District Magistrate for the recovery of the entire outstanding amount. Following this, the district administration has instructed the preparation of a detailed report on the defaulters and the launch of a special campaign to ensure recovery. The District Magistrate has directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to prepare a list of all defaulters, both large and small, in their respective tehsil areas. They have also been asked to submit daily progress reports on revenue collection from their tehsils.
