The “Government for the People, at the People’s Doorstep” program, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has emerged as a strong model of good governance in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Dhami stated that officials should now be seen in the field, not just in their offices. In Uttarakhand, governance is now a means of service, not just a means of power.

Through this campaign, the government is reaching beyond the confines of the secretariat and offices, directly to the people’s doorsteps. On Saturday, a total of 135 camps were organized in 13 districts of the state. In these camps, more than 74,087 citizens submitted applications related to their problems and demands on the spot. Demonstrating administrative efficiency, 8,408 applications were resolved immediately. Additionally, 13,934 certificates were issued, and 47,878 citizens received direct benefits from various welfare schemes.

This campaign is not merely a government formality, but a symbol of the government’s sensitivity, accountability, and commitment to service towards the public. Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, officials are no longer making citizens run around to offices; instead, they are reaching out to villages and neighborhoods to resolve problems.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami clearly stated, “For me, governance means not just issuing orders, but understanding the problems of the people and resolving them quickly.” CM Dhami has given strict instructions to officials to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach every eligible citizen. He emphasized that door-to-door solutions must be provided, especially for the elderly, the disabled, and those living in remote areas.

The Dhami model has become a new symbol of good governance in Uttarakhand, where there is no waiting for hearings and no need for recommendations. The government itself is present at the people’s doorsteps. Every application received at the camps is being resolved in a timely, transparent, and efficient manner. The Chief Minister has already ordered strict action against any official found to be negligent at any level.
