Uttarakhand: CM Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 9 development projects worth Rs 33 crore 36 lakh 49 thousand in Khatima

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a program held in Khatima on Wednesday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for nine development projects worth ₹33 crore 36 lakh 49 thousand. This includes the newly constructed high-tech Maharana Pratap Bus Station, built at a cost of ₹11 crore 27 lakh 50 thousand by the District Development Authority.

The Chief Minister announced that the Balaji Temple in Nanakmatta would be beautified. Beautification and reconstruction work will be undertaken at the Brahmadev Temple and Lohia Bridge in Khatima, within the Nanakmatta assembly constituency. Rooms, a hall, and beautification work will be carried out at the Devbhumi Dharamshala in the Nanakmatta assembly constituency. Hotmix road construction will be undertaken on the Sonukhari-Kishanpur-Barkidandi-Kaithula-Tukri road in the Nanakmatta assembly constituency.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the high-tech Maharana Pratap Bus Station; a drinking water tube well, overhead tank, and pipeline works constructed at a cost of ₹48.45 lakh in wards number 7 and 8 of the municipality; residential buildings for revenue inspectors and sub-inspectors constructed at a cost of ₹490.21 lakh in the Nanakmatta assembly constituency; office buildings for sub-inspectors constructed at a cost of ₹359.91 lakh; and drain construction work from the lake to Poliganj in Majhola village, Khatima, at a cost of ₹225.62 lakh. He also laid the foundation stone for the installation of 300 handpumps in the Khatima area at a cost of ₹499.65 lakh; the construction of the Maharana Pratap Gate at the newly constructed bus stand in Khatima at a cost of ₹29.65 lakh; the construction of a high-tech toilet in Khatima at a cost of ₹24.50 lakh; and the reconstruction of Tharu Inter College, Khatima, at a cost of ₹95 lakh.

The Chief Minister said that the inauguration of the high-tech bus stand, built at a cost of over ₹11 crore, on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti and Ghugutiya festival, is a matter of great joy for the entire region. The Chief Minister said that he himself had made several attempts to establish the bus stand and had even announced it. The project has now finally materialized. The Chief Minister said that the newly constructed bus stand will make the region’s transportation system more convenient and organized, and will also accelerate the development of the area by creating new opportunities for local businesses, tourism, and employment.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state is setting new benchmarks in development and prosperity. Infrastructure related to all important sectors, including roads, education, health, and drinking water, is being strengthened from cities to remote mountainous villages. The government is working with determination to connect the last person in society to the mainstream. He said that Khatima is his home and all the people of Khatima are members of his family. The Chief Minister said that he started his journey of public service from Khatima. Every street and village in the area is very close to his heart. He derives energy and inspiration from the soil of Khatima and its people, and it is with this strength that he is able to work for the development of the state.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously striving for the overall development of Khatima. To improve connectivity in the Khatima region, the construction of the Gadarpur-Khatima bypass and a bridge at Nausar, along with the development of a comprehensive network of roads throughout the area, has been ensured. He said that a Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central School) has been established in Khatima, and a national-level modern sports stadium has also been constructed in Chakarpur. The Chief Minister said that basic facilities have been strengthened in Khatima with the construction of a modern ITI and Polytechnic College, and a new 100-bed hospital complex. A Saathi Kendra (support center) for students and a SIDCUL (State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited) unit have also been established to accelerate industrial development. He said that they are also going to build a grand military memorial between Khatima and Tanakpur, on which work will begin soon.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working on the construction of an international-level airport in Pantnagar, and work on this will begin soon. He said that M.Com and M.Sc classes have been started at the Government College in Khatima, and an Eklavya school has also been established in this tribal-dominated area. The state government has restarted the construction of the Jamrani Dam multi-purpose project, working towards solving the drinking water and irrigation problems of the entire Terai region. Furthermore, efforts are being made to provide excellent medical services to the people of the area by establishing an AIIMS satellite center, and to accelerate the development of the entire region through an industrial smart city in Khurpiya. He assured that there would be no let-up in the development of Khatima in the future.

The Chief Minister said that to teach a lesson to those who indulge in the politics of riots in the state, a strict anti-riot law has been enacted, and provisions have been made to recover the losses incurred during riots from the rioters themselves. The state government has also decided to abolish the Madarsa Board by implementing a new law in the state. After the implementation of this law, only those madrasas will be able to operate in Uttarakhand after July 1, 2026, which teach the curriculum prescribed by our government board. He said that the government has also closed down more than 250 illegally operating madrasas in the state. Our endeavor is to establish temples of education in the state, where quality education is provided according to prescribed standards. He said that the government is also taking strict action against hypocrites who are defaming the Sanatan culture in the state through Operation Kalnemi.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law to make recruitment processes transparent and curb the cheating mafia. As a result, approximately 27,000 young people in the state have received government jobs in the last four and a half years, which is a new record in itself. After the implementation of this law, more than 100 members of the cheating mafia have been put behind bars in the last four years. He said that we have also taken the courageous step of implementing the ‘Uniform Civil Code’ law, the first in the country, to eliminate inequalities in society and ensure equal rights and justice for all. He said that our state is Devbhoomi (Land of Gods), and we will not tolerate any kind of conspiracy against its culture, identity, and honor.

They said that the construction of this bus stand was a dream project of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. They also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for naming the newly constructed high-tech bus stand after Maharana Pratap. They said that it is a matter of pride for us that other states of the country are also following the works and decisions of Chief Minister Dhami. They said that the Chief Minister is committed to the all-round development of the region and the state.
