Panic erupted in the Roorkee court of Haridwar district when an accused man, after being convicted, escaped by giving the police the slip. The convict’s escape caused chaos in the court premises. Police have now launched a search for the फरार convict.

Convict escapes after evading police: The incident occurred when the accused was sentenced, but as soon as the sentence was pronounced, chaos ensued in the court premises when the convict managed to escape from the police. The incident caused a stir in the police department and also raised questions about the security arrangements in the judiciary.

According to reports, Neeraj Goswami, son of Mahesh Goswami, a resident of Rehmatpur village in the Pirankaliyar police station area, was present in court on Friday, January 16th, for a hearing in case number 2706/2023 under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Neeraj Goswami had a long-running case in the Roorkee court, and the sentence was to be pronounced on January 16th.

It is reported that during the hearing, the court sentenced Neeraj Goswami to two years of imprisonment, but shortly after the sentence was pronounced, Neeraj escaped from the custody of the court clerk. The incident caused a commotion in the court premises. The escape happened so quickly that no one had a chance to react.

Panic in the police department: Upon receiving information about the escaped convict, the police department was also thrown into a state of panic. A search operation has been launched in the surrounding areas to apprehend the fugitive. This incident has raised serious questions about the security arrangements of the court and the functioning of the police.

There is also an atmosphere of concern among the general public, wondering what the state of law and order will be if convicted criminals can escape in this manner. Meanwhile, the police claim that the accused will be arrested soon. The police are also investigating how the convict managed to escape from the court premises.
