Uttarakhand: The process of approving building plans will be simplified in the state, which will also curb the tendency of illegal construction

The Secretary of Housing, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, will personally inspect the important housing department schemes underway in the state. He clarified that the process for obtaining building plan approvals will be further simplified. The Rishikesh, Dehradun, Arhat Bazaar, and Indira Market projects will be among his priorities.
On Wednesday, Secretary Dr. Rajesh held a review meeting with the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). The Housing Secretary gave clear instructions that all projects should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He emphasized that there should be no compromise on construction quality. He directed that the building plan approval system be made more simple, transparent, and time-bound so that ordinary citizens and investors do not face unnecessary difficulties.
He said that a faster and smoother process will promote urban development and also curb the tendency of illegal construction. The Housing Secretary also stated that he will personally conduct on-site inspections of all important and ongoing projects. Assessing the actual status of the work on the ground will make it easier to identify problems and find solutions.
During the meeting, information was sought on the current status of MDDA projects related to Rishikesh, Dehradun Tehsil area, Arhat Bazaar, and Indira Market. Instructions were given to complete all projects on a priority basis.
