A meeting was held at the Chief Secretary’s office, chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, with Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway Moradabad, Smt. Vineeta Srivastava. During the meeting, various issues and projects related to Northern Railway were discussed in detail.
The Chief Secretary instructed the District Magistrate of Dehradun to conduct a joint survey of the 3.62 hectares of forest land belonging to Rajaji National Park and the Forest Department, in collaboration with the Railways, the Chief Wildlife Warden, and Rajaji National Park, as part of the Rishikesh-Doiwala bypass railway line project. He directed that the inspection report be submitted to the government.
Regarding the Dehradun-Mohand-Saharanpur tunnel-based railway line project, the Chief Secretary instructed that a final location survey be conducted and that the government be apprised of the updated status soon. He also asked the Railways to share the master plan for the expansion of Harrawala railway station with the government. He directed the Railways and the district administration to conduct a joint survey and submit the inspection report to the government promptly.
In view of ensuring smooth traffic management and facilitating easy travel for devotees during the Kumbh Mela 2027, the Chief Secretary instructed railway officials to collaborate with the District Magistrate of Haridwar, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haridwar, the Mela Officer, and the Government Railway Police (GRP) to prepare a joint traffic plan. He also directed that the slope stabilization work near the Haridwar railway tunnel be completed expeditiously and a report on the action taken be submitted to the government.
Present at the meeting were Secretary Transport Brijesh Kumar Sant, Additional Secretary Smt. Reena Joshi, and other senior railway officials.
