During Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s visit to the Yamuna Valley in Barkot, the weather took a sudden turn, resulting in heavy rainfall and hailstorms across the region. Despite the adverse weather conditions, the Chief Minister proceeded to Nagan Gaon as per his scheduled itinerary and participated in a religious ceremony held there. He was accompanied by the state’s former Chief Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, during the visit. Both leaders met with local residents to inquire about the prevailing situation in the area. Despite the inclement weather, a large number of people gathered at the venue to welcome the Chief Minister.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has adopted a strict stance regarding development schemes in Uttarakhand. During a review meeting, he took stock of the progress of projects being executed by various departments and directed officials to complete the work in a time-bound manner.

The Chief Minister explicitly stated that unnecessary delays in these schemes would no longer be tolerated. Officials have been instructed to ensure, under any circumstances, that Government Orders (GOs) for projects currently pending are issued by June 15, 2026. Furthermore, officials were directed to establish clear timelines for all tasks and to implement them effectively at the grassroots level.

Emphasizing transparency and quality during the meeting, the CM asserted that the benefits of development schemes must reach the general public directly. To achieve this, he noted that better coordination among departments and regular monitoring are essential.

Issuing a stern warning, the Chief Minister stated that if any negligence or laxity is detected at any level, strict action will be taken against the concerned officials. He directed all departments to continuously review the progress of these schemes to ensure that the work is completed within the stipulated timelines.

This stance adopted by the government clearly indicates a heightened focus on accelerating development works and ensuring accountability.
