Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha organized in Nagan village of Barkot Tehsil, experiencing the spiritual atmosphere alongside the local residents. During the event, while listening to the discourse, he offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and public welfare of the state.
The program was organized on the occasion of the annual Shraddh* (memorial ceremony) of the late Uma Ji, the wife of BJP Media In-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan. Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that listening to the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha awakens an individual’s conscience and wisdom, and is also considered significant for ensuring peace for the souls of one’s ancestors.
The Chief Minister remarked that, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed a renewed recognition of Sanatan culture. Citing projects such as the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he described these initiatives as symbols of a cultural renaissance.
Describing Uttarakhand as Devbhoomi (the Land of Gods), he noted that the sacred Char Dham shrines are situated here and that the state government is continuously working towards the development of these pilgrimage sites. Following the reconstruction of Kedarnath, development works at Badrinath Dham are now progressing rapidly under a comprehensive Master Plan.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also gave an assurance regarding the construction of a community hall (Barat Ghar) in Nagan village, acceding to a request made by the Village Head. A large number of local residents, along with Cabinet Minister Khazan Das, former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, various MLAs, and administrative officials, were present at the event.
