The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has issued a statement for the first time regarding the theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. RSS General Secretary (Sarkaryavah) Dattatreya Hosabale officially presented the Sangh’s stance on the controversy, terming the incident as highly condemnable. Hosabale stated that anyone found guilty in this matter must face the strictest possible punishment. Additionally, the Sangh has demanded that the temple management and the government immediately rectify all shortcomings in the security and administrative arrangements.

A Deep Blow to the Faith of Ram Devotees

In a statement, the RSS has said that the magnificent temple built at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya stands as a symbol of centuries of struggle and the sacrifice, dedication, and martyrdom of crores of Ram devotees. This entire complex is the greatest center of unwavering faith and devotion for the entire Hindu community. Against this backdrop, the unfortunate incident of money being stolen from the donation boxes placed in the sanctum of Ram Lalla is deeply distressing. This despicable act has dealt a severe blow to the sentiments and faith of Ram devotees across the globe.

Culprits Must Face Severe Punishment; System Must Be Transparent

The Sangh has clarified that, following an appeal by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. Legal action has already been initiated based on the SIT’s recommendations. It is the emphatic demand of the Sangh and the entire Hindu community that the investigative agency and the government ensure every single person involved in this grave offense receives the strictest possible punishment under the law. Furthermore, the management and handling of funds within the temple must be made completely transparent and accountable to prevent any such lapses in the future.

Atmosphere of Confusion Must End: Dattatreya Hosabale

The RSS Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) has expressed the expectation that the temple management and the administration will treat this matter with the utmost seriousness rather than dismissing it as a mere case of theft. The current atmosphere of uncertainty and confusion surrounding the temple must be dispelled immediately. Additionally, the Sangh has issued a significant appeal to the general Hindu community across the country. It has urged all Ram devotees to exercise patience and restraint during this extremely difficult and sensitive time. Society must remain vigilant so that forces working against the nation and the Hindu faith cannot exploit this unfortunate incident to succeed in any conspiracy to malign our society.
