If you have to stop any project in the interest of the people in Joshimath, you should not hesitate: Harish Rawat

The eyes of the whole country are focused on the disaster in Joshimath of Uttarakhand. Everyone is demanding to save Joshimath. To save Joshimath, the Joshimath Sangharsh Samiti has demanded closure of the project being run by NTPC. In such a situation, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat says that if any project has to be stopped to save the mythical city of Uttarakhand, Joshimath and its people, then the government should not hesitate to do so.

Harish Rawat said that during the Congress tenure, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had stopped three projects which were 80 percent completed to save Uttarkashi. If any project has to be stopped to protect Joshimath, then the government should not hesitate. Harish Rawat said that the condition of Joshimath is bad, the situation there is becoming increasingly worrying. But the state and the central government are lax in this whole matter. The government is not serious about setting up a new Joshimath and compensation to the people there and who will be included in that compensation.

But the situation there is so bad that everyone is getting affected by this disaster. The people there are physically and psychologically troubled, which needs to be diagnosed. But the government is not making any arrangements for this. He said that the Congress is standing with the government in this hour of crisis. But the government should take this matter seriously, but the central and state governments are not serious in this matter. On the other hand, Harish Rawat has also questioned the state government for removing the image of Joshimath from ISRO’s website. Harish Rawat has said that stopping the exchange of information will create more confusion and fear among the people. This type of government’s decision is not right, which is preventing government and non-government organizations from giving information.
