Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will resign. He has offered to resign saying that he wants to be free from all political responsibilities. Let us inform that Koshyari has been in controversies for more than last 3 years. He has expressed his desire to quit the post of Governor of Maharashtra and requested the Central Government to remove him from Maharashtra. However, the central government has not yet taken any decision in this matter.

Koshyari tweeted from the official Twitter handle and wrote, ‘During PM Modi’s recent visit to Mumbai, I have conveyed to him my desire to be relieved of all my political responsibilities and spend the rest of my life in reading, writing and other activities. I have always received affection from PM Modi and I hope to get the same in this regard.

Koshyari remains in discussion with statements

Significantly, the Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, was in the limelight due to his statements. Recently, he said about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that he was an icon of the olden days. Apart from the opposition, his statement was also criticized by many leaders of the state government.

Earlier, Koshyari had said in July 2022 that if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis leave Maharashtra, then Mumbai will lose its status of being the economic capital of the country. Apart from this, the opposition has also accused him of being biased.
