Australian Open: Djokovic won the Australian Open for the 10th time, equaling Nadal’s record of 22 Grand Slams

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic has won the Australian Open 2023 for a record 10th time. In the men’s singles title match, he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-3, 7-6, 7-6. In the final match, Djokovic started brilliantly and won the first set by a margin of 6-3.

Both the players fought fiercely in the second set, but in the end Djokovic won by a margin of 7-6. Tsitsipas tried hard to come back in the third set as well, but could not overcome Djokovic and Djokovic won the match by a margin of 7-6. With this win, he reached the top of the ATP rankings.

Tsitsipas, 24, is the second youngest male player to reach the final of the Australian Open. Before that, Djokovic reached the final in 2011 at the age of 23. However, Tsitsipas did not become the champion, while Djokovic won the final as well.

Djokovic won the Australian Open for the 10th time. He has reached the final of this Grand Slam tournament 10 times and won the title every time. Djokovic won the title in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021 and now in 2023. In 2022, Djokovic could not play this tournament due to visa reasons and Rafael Nadal won the Australian Open title.

Djokovic wins 22nd Grand Slam
With winning the Australian Open, Djokovic has won his 22nd Grand Slam title. He has won a total of 22 Grand Slams including 10 Australian Open, two French Open, seven Wimbledon and three US Open. Djokovic has equaled Rafael Nadal in terms of winning the most Grand Slams. Nadal also has 22 Grand Slams. At the same time, Roger Federer is at number three with 20 Grand Slams.
