Madhya Pradesh: Dhirendra’s brother Shaligram arrested, accused of threatening a Dalit family at a wedding ceremony

Shaligram, brother of Peethadhishwar Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested. Shaligram is accused of intimidating and threatening a Dalit family at a wedding ceremony. Chhatarpur police has produced Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s brother in the district court. At present, the court hearing is going on. Heavy police force has been deployed outside the court.
Last month, the police had also registered a case against him under the ST-SC Act. According to the police, last month there was a marriage of the daughter of an Ahirwar family in Gadha village, this family first wanted to get married in a mass marriage ceremony organized at Bageshwar Dham and had also applied for it, but later changed the decision.
Shaligram, the younger brother of Dhirendra Shastri, did not like this and reached the wedding ceremony and created ruckus, as well as threatened. The video of Dalit family members of Dhirendra Shastri’s younger brother Shaligram being threatened had also gone viral on social media. After this, the police have registered a case against Shaligram under the SC-SC Act along with various sections.
According to the information, a person from Garha village had written a post on social media with videos and pictures, in which Dhirendra Shastri’s brother Shaligram was seen. A dagger was also visible in his hand and he was also threatening. On this basis, the police have registered the case.

There was a lot of pressure on the Chhatarpur police to arrest Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s brother Shaligram Garg. Dalit organizations were continuously demonstrating demanding the arrest of Shaligram. However, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri had distanced himself from his brother after marriage. He had said that there was no need to drag his name into the matter.
