Dispute with CJI, SCBA unites in favor of Vikas Singh, seeks clarification from Sibal and Kaul
Last week itself, there was a heated argument during the hearing between Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud (CJI DY Chandrachud) and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President and Advocate Vikas Singh. After the debate, senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Neeraj Kishan Kaul apologized to the CJI. Now the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has shown solidarity with its president on this matter. The Supreme Court Bar Association has held a meeting and sought clarification from Kapil Sibal and NK Kaul.

After the meeting held on March 06, 2023, a statement was issued by the Bar Association saying, ‘Keeping in mind the demands, several proposals were considered in the meeting held on March 06, 2023. 184 SCBA members moved a resolution showing solidarity in favor of the Speaker and 235 members moved a resolution seeking clarification from Sibal and Kaul.
The Bar Association (SCBA) said that the SCBAs are fully united on the issue raised by the SCBA President before the Chief Justice. It has been said in the statement that due show cause notices have been issued to the concerned members (Sibal and Kaul) and an explanation has been sought from them. According to the statement, any member of the Bar should be strongly condemned for opposing the stand taken by SCBA in judicial proceedings and strict action should be taken against such member in future.
