The tension of Mumbai Indians has increased after the two matches on Monday. On the other hand, RCB had to be out of the tournament due to the victory of UP Warriors. The road to the knockouts had already become difficult for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who had lost the first five matches of the season. After that the team won two back to back matches and some new equations were formed. But UP Warriors defeated Gujarat Giants by 3 wickets and showed not one but two teams the way out of the tournament. UP’s double dhamaal has finalized the top three teams of the first season of the Women’s Premier League.
In the first match on Monday, UP Warriors defeated Gujarat Giants. After this, along with Gujarat, the RCB team was also out of the tournament. Then in the second match, two top teams Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals were face to face. On the other hand, Delhi, led by world champion captain Meg Lanning, won the match by 9 wickets and increased Mumbai’s problems.
Tension of Mumbai Indians got Increased
Actually five teams took part in this tournament. It will not have a playoff like the men’s IPL. The team on top of the points table after the league round will go directly to the final. There will be an eliminator match between the number two and number three teams. The winning team of this match will face the top team of the points table in the final. In this context, the team on top will get the advantage. Hence there is also a battle for the number one position which is currently going on between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. On Monday, Delhi Capitals registered their fifth win by defeating Mumbai and got 10 points. Although Mumbai Indians also have 10 points after five wins, but Delhi is ahead in net runrate.
In that context, the Delhi team reached number one in the points table, leaving behind Mumbai. Now both the teams have to play their last-last league match on Tuesday. Whichever team will win today, it will go to the finals while being on top. If Mumbai will face RCB then Delhi will face UP’s challenge. Even if UP wins here, it is difficult for them to reach second place. He would need a big win. On the other hand, if Mumbai loses to RCB and Delhi defeats UP, then the consistently topper Mumbai team will lose the chance to go directly to the finals and will have to play the eliminator.
