Right To Health Bill passed by voice vote in Rajasthan Assembly

Ignoring the opposition of private hospitals, the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Tuesday passed the Right to Health Bill by voice vote. Medical Minister Parsadi Lal Meena explained the features of the bill and clearly said that the public will be greatly benefited by this bill. On the other hand, private hospitals are protesting on the road against the bill. Today again the police used water canning to throw water cannons at the hospitals. Demonstration of hospitals is going on for the time being.
The most opposition to private hospitals is about the fact that the government has forced private hospitals to provide free treatment during emergency in the bill. Even if the patient does not have money, he cannot be denied treatment. But the definition of emergency has not been clarified. Similarly, in the bill, it is proposed to constitute an authority at the state and district level for expensive treatment of private hospitals and to protect the rights of patients. Doctors of private hospitals demand that subject experts should be included in the authority so that they can understand the process of technical treatment by understanding the conditions of the hospital. If there are no subject experts, then the members posted in the authority will blackmail the private hospitals. This will increase corruption.
Similarly, if a patient suffering from serious illness has to be referred to any other hospital for treatment, then it is mandatory to arrange for an ambulance. But there is no clear provision regarding who will bear its expenses. According to the government scheme, private hospitals also have objections to the provision of free treatment of all diseases. Hospitals also say that if the entire treatment is done free of cost, then how will the expenses be met. Many other similar provisions have also been kept in the bill, regarding which doctors of private hospitals are opposing it.
