Thieves beheaded the 45-year-old Ashtadhatu statue of Lord Gautam Buddha in Etah district of UP in the night. There is anger among Buddhist followers about this. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Jalesar police and the jurisdictional officer also reached the spot. Explaining to the people who expressed outrage, he assured to expose the incident soon.
Beheaded the precious idol
Thieves beheaded the idol of Ashtadhatu kept from the Buddhist temple located in Mohalla Akbarpur Haveli of Jalesar town. People came to know about this when they reached the temple in the morning. There was anger among the people on the incident of taking away the head of the precious idol from the temple. Jalesar police station in-charge Jagdish Singh as well as jurisdictional officer Raghavendra Rathore reached the spot as soon as the news of the theft of part of the idol from the temple was received. There he collected evidence related to the incident while getting information from the people.
There was a call at three o’clock
Temple manager Ramesh Chandra told that there was a sound around 3 o’clock in the night. Taking this, his son Ajay went from home to the temple. He didn’t see anyone there. Seeing this he turned back. After this, when he himself came to the temple at six in the morning, he could not find the head of the idol. In such a situation, he informed the people around him about chopping off the head from the Ashtadhatu statue. Regarding this, BJP leader BL Kushwaha, former municipal chairman Mohan Singh Happy, former municipal chairman Ramdas Gopal Gupta, Puran Singh Bharti, Rajesh Kumar Buddhist, Vinod Kumar Buddhist etc. reached the spot and condemning the incident, they quickly exposed the police. Asked to get it done.
The idol came from Thailand
The temple was constructed in 1976. The carved Ashtadhatu idol was brought from Thailand. Tell that the Gyan Ratna Buddha Vihar located in Akbarpur Haveli of the city was built by his daughter-in-law Ram Dulari Devi, wife Babulal Gautam in the memory of Dal Chandra. The ashtadhatu idol was received by the temple with the help of Chuthasimhat, the ambassador of Thailand. He had got this idol installed. According to the local residents, the cost of the idol is crores of rupees.
Two people taken into custody
The police took the incident of theft of Ashtadhatu idol from the temple by chopping off its head seriously. Police have detained two suspects. Police is questioning them. People are raising doubts only on persons having good knowledge of the temple.
There has been an incident of beheading of the statue of Lord Buddha. A police team has been constituted to crack the case. Soon the accused who executed the incident will be caught. Some suspects are being questioned.
