Madhya Pradesh / Bhopal: Elderly women used to abscond with bundles of fake notes, real jewelry, 4 accused arrested
In the Hanumanganj police station area of the capital, two incidents of cheating had come to the fore in the past. In both these cases, the accused who cheated two elderly women and grabbed money and jewelry have been arrested. The accused used to trap elderly women by showing them wads of fake notes and used to get them to remove their jewellery.
Clues from CCTV footage
Seeing the method of cheating in both the cases, the police started investigation on the basis of CCTV footage and technical analysis. After completing the investigation, 4 accused were arrested near the toll tax on the road going from Bhopal to Narmadapuram. Two of these accused are from Delhi while one is from Gandhinagar police station area of Bhopal. Another accused has been described as a minor. Police is interrogating the four arrested accused by registering a case.
Will be seized after going to Delhi
Station in-charge Mahendra Singh Thakur said that the police have arrested 4 accused in cases of cheating elderly women. The leader of the gang is Dhaniram Raghuvanshi, who is a resident of Delhi. The arrested accused have confessed to the crime. He told that the police will take Dhaniram to Delhi and take action to confiscate the jewellery.
