Uttarakhand: 30% work of data entry completed, draft of Uniform Civil Code likely to be ready by July – CM Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed the possibility of preparing the draft of the Uniform Civil Code by the month of July. After this announcement by the CM, the expert committee has started the process of making the draft. The expert committee constituted under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai (Sr.) has so far completed many tasks in different phases.

The committee first started a campaign to take suggestions. Apart from seeking suggestions through online and offline medium, the committee toured the entire state and took suggestions from the people. Meanwhile, the tenure of the committee was also extended by six months till May 27.

Figures are being prepared for the large number of suggestions that have reached the committee. According to committee member Shatrughan Singh, 30 percent data has been prepared and work is on to prepare the remaining data at a fast pace. He said that the work of preparing the draft has also started.

The effort of the committee is to prepare the draft according to the expectation of the Chief Minister. Tell that the Chief Minister had announced during the budget session in Gairsain that the draft would be ready by the month of July. He said that Uttarakhand would be the first state in the country, where Uniform Civil Code would be implemented.
