Uttarakhand: Harda’s sarcasm on the new liquor policy, wrote on social media – ‘may not get a job, but many will get employment by selling liquor’

The Uttarakhand government has approved the new excise policy for the upcoming financial year 2023-24 in the recently held cabinet meeting. In the new excise policy of the government, liquor has been made cheaper in Uttarakhand, due to which the opposition has created a ruckus. Congress has also opened a front on social media regarding the new excise policy. On one hand, other Congress leaders are protesting against the new excise policy on the streets. At the same time, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has opened a front on social media. Posting on social media against the new excise policy, Harish Rawat has written that this year’s excise policy of Uttarakhand government is very interesting. On one hand, the government has tried that the liquor of UP, Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana cannot be sold in Uttarakhand. That is why liquor has been made cheaper in Uttarakhand. This sounds like a good thing, but its second hidden goal is that the consumption of alcohol will increase. If more liquor is sold in the state, then more revenue will come.

Harish Rawat wrote that in the new excise policy, liquor will be sold in tetra packs and any person can keep up to 70 liters of liquor at his home. This means that there will be small bars or vendors in every village. Because they will be protected by the law, availability will be near and alcohol will be cheap, then the number of people drinking alcohol will also increase. You may not be able to provide a job, but many will get employment in selling liquor, and then empty containers or packs of tetra packs will create havoc in every village, earlier once plastic bags were seen in every street of the village. . Now only tetra packs will be visible, wow! The government and its policies are good environmental friends of the environment.

At the same time, Chief Secretary SS Sandhu and Excise Commissioner Harish Chandra Semwal have also responded to the allegations of the opposition. He says that the purpose of bringing new excise policy is to stop liquor smuggling in the state. Because liquor was being smuggled here in large quantities from outside states. The revenue of this state was facing a big loss.

On the other hand, keeping the government’s side, BJP’s state president Mahendra Bhatt says that today the opposition is making allegations, but as soon as the successful results of these public interest policies of the government start coming, then the opposition parties will also praise the government. Will be seen doing it. At the same time, BJP spokesperson Devendra Bhasin says that the opposition who is making allegations today, he remained a topic of discussion among the public regarding alcohol during his reign.

On the other hand, regarding the government’s new liquor policy, Congress spokesperson Garim Dasauni says that on one hand the government is putting the burden of inflation on the public, while on the other hand it is making liquor cheaper. The government is only concerned with its own revenue, it is not concerned with the public interest.
