Shock to consumers, Electricity Regulatory Commission hikes electricity rates by 9.64%, new rates will be applicable from April 1

Electricity has now become expensive in Uttarakhand. The Electricity Regulatory Commission has increased the electricity rates by 9.64%. On Thursday, the Chairman of the Regulatory Commission DP Garola and Member Technical MK Jain released the tariff. The new electricity rates will be applicable from April 1. Let us tell you that UPCL had proposed 16.96 per cent hike, UJVNL about two and Pitkul nine per cent for the new financial year this year. After public hearing on this, the commission had decided to increase about 12 percent. But the commission has increased the electricity rates only by 9.64%.
The decisions taken
Electricity rates have been increased by 64%.
An increase of 10 paise per unit has also been made for four lakh domestic consumers of the state.
The commission has not made any change in the fixed charge.
About 7000 fish farmers will now be able to take advantage of electricity as agricultural consumers instead of commercial ones.
On making digital payment of the bill in 10 days, the consumer will get 50% discount and 1% discount through other means.
If the farmer deposits the bill of the tubewell within a month, then he will be given a rebate of 5%.
