Madhya Pradesh: Dead bodies floating in Bawdi, people got mad after seeing dead bodies of their loved ones

CM Shivraj Singh reached the hospital on the second day after the accident at Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Indore, MP and talked to the injured and assured them of all possible help. Here, after about 20 hours, the horrors of the accident are coming to the fore. The dead bodies of the people kept being removed throughout the night, the administration has so far confirmed the deaths of 35 people, the army is still engaged in the rescue. The incident took place on Thursday morning around 11.30 am. Due to the collapse of the roof of the stepwell of the temple, when there was a noise, people came out of their homes and reached there. Although the rescue team came after about an hour, they started working as soon as they arrived.
The injured and eyewitnesses told that immediately after the accident, a large number of people gathered here and were worried about their near and dear ones coming to the temple. Additional Collector Ajaydev Sharma was explaining to the people by announcing through the mike. The people trapped inside are safe, they have also been given oxygen, they will be taken out soon. After this, whenever an injured was brought out after rescuing, the people used to encourage the team and console the injured. The temple is very old, so the entry of people inside was stopped by deploying police force at the gate.
Although in the beginning those who went inside and saw the situation, the horrors became clear to them and there was apprehension of a big untoward in everyone’s mind. The Municipal Corporation team along with SDRF and Home Guard started the rescue. People were being explained continuously outside and people were also wishing everyone to be safe, but finally the number of casualties reached more than three dozen.

Ravi Pal, who was injured in the accident, told that he had come to the temple with his family members. After the completion of Havan, he attended the Aarti, when suddenly the slab caved in. Many people including children and women fell into the water. I knew how to swim, so I survived. After some time, saw that dead bodies were floating in the stepwell. Seeing the dead bodies of their loved ones, everyone went berserk. People continued to be unhappy in the hospital as well. Acquaintances kept consoling him.

घायलों के इलाज की समुचित व्यवस्था की जा चुकी है, चिकित्सा का संपूर्ण व्यय प्रदेश सरकार वहन करेगी।
