Fire in Bangladesh’s largest textile market, many shops gutted, Army and Airforce took command

There are four markets in the Bangabazar area of the capital Dhaka where the fire broke out, namely Bangabazar Bazar, Islamia Bazar, Banga Dosh Koti Bazar and Adarsh Bazar. Common people call all these together as Bangabazar market. Traders told that there are about six thousand shops in these four markets. Eyewitnesses have told that the owners and employees of the market shops reached the spot after hearing the news of the fire. They were seen taking out goods from their shops and taking them to a safe place. The shops were not open when the fire broke out in the market, so the possibility of loss of life in the fire is very less, but there is a possibility of burning of goods in large quantities.
