Orleans Masters: Priyanshu beats Chi Yu Jen, reaches semi-finals of Super-300 tournament for the first time

Priyanshu Rajawat continued his fine form to enter the semi-finals of the Orleans Masters badminton. In the quarterfinals, he defeated world No. 61 Chi Yu Zhen of Chinese Taipei in straight games 21–18, 21–18 in 44 minutes. World No. 58 Priyanshu made it to the semi-finals of a Super-300 tournament for the first time. Where he will compete against Nahat Nguyen of Ireland.

Nguyen got a walkover from Israel’s Misha Zilberman. Priyanshu had earlier pulled off a huge upset by defeating top seed Kenta Nishimoto of Japan in straight games in the pre-quarterfinals. Earlier on Thursday night, the seventh seeded pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila defeated Japan’s Kenya Mitsuhashi and Hiroki Okamura 21-15, 17-21, 21-16 to enter the quarterfinals. Where they have to play second seeds Leo Roli Carnado and Daniel Martin of Indonesia.
