EVM banned in Bangladesh elections, now election will be done with old technology ballot paper

Ballot paper will be used in the coming elections in Bangladesh. This news is a bit shocking, but it is true that, whatever elections will be held in Bangladesh in the future, EVM machines will not be used for these elections.

Giving information to the media after the meeting of the Election Commission, the Secretary of the Election Commission said that the Election Commission has decided to conduct general elections on vegetable 300 parliamentary seats using ballot papers and transparent ballot boxes.

Let us tell you that earlier during the General Elections, the Election Commission had started a project using Electronic Voting Machines ie EVMs in 150 constituencies, the proposal of ₹ 8700 crores has not moved towards implementation. The renewal of EVMs was also not approved by the government. This is the reason why the decision to hold elections with EVMs was rejected.

According to the information, the general election of Bangladesh is scheduled to be held by the end of this year or in January next year. However, when it comes to opposition parties, the Bangladesh National Party has accused the government of planning to hold early elections.

Mircha Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, general secretary of the Bangladesh National Party, while speaking at a party office on April 1, alleged that the government was planning to hold early elections to cheat the people. This was also mentioned in the Election Commission meeting held on March 30, in which the Chief Election Commissioner told the officers that they should be ready for the election even if it is held earlier.
