To attract investment in Uttarakhand, the state government will hold roadshows in Europe, Singapore and Dubai. The roadshows of Singapore and Dubai have been finalized. Preparations are underway for the roadshow in Europe. These roadshows abroad will be headed by the Chief Minister or a minister nominated by him. According to Secretary to Chief Minister R Meenakshi Sundaram, who has been made the nodal officer for the investor meet, roadshows and investor meets are being organized to take advantage of the investment climate created in the state. An investor meet in the state has been proposed in October or November. The conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The three-day investor conference will be final according to the date fixed by the Prime Minister’s Office. Before the conference, there will be roadshows in the country and abroad.
These roadshows will be held in major big and industrial cities of the country including Bangalore, Indore, Delhi, Mumbai. Roadshows in Dubai and Singapore have been fixed. The team of McKenzie Global and KBNG, the state government’s consultant agency, is preparing the action plan for the road shows of major cities of the country. A roadmap is being prepared for the type of road show in which city. An event management company will also be deployed for this entire event.
Government’s focus on investment in these sectors
A target has been set to invest 40 to 50 thousand crores in the tourism sector next year. Apart from this, an investment of 2000 crores in the health sector, 2500 crores in the field of horticulture (apple and kiwi), 10 thousand crores for the establishment of 20 world-class higher education institutions, 30 thousand crores for urban development infrastructure is to be mobilized. To attract entrepreneurs from all over the country for industrial and infrastructure development.
Investors do not invest only because of tax exemption. There are many other reasons for this as well. The Government of Uttarakhand has made its policies very attractive in the last one year to encourage investment. Due to this, investment environment has been created. We will hold an investor conference to take advantage of this environment. It is proposed in October-November. It will be decided when the Prime Minister gets time. PM will come on the first day.
