Uttarakhand: CS Sandhu reached Kedarnath Dham, took stock of reconstruction works

Chief Secretary (CM) Dr. SS Sandhu reached Kedarnath Dham on Saturday, 20 May. Here he inspected the reconstruction works of the second phase going on under PM Modi’s dream project in Kedarnath Dham. During this, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Mayur Dixit and officials of related executive organizations were also present on the spot. During this, the CS also interacted with the workers and encouraged them.

On reaching Dham, the Chief Secretary first visited Baba Kedarnath and offered prayers and wished for the prosperity, progress and prosperity of the state. After this, the CS did on-site inspection of the reconstruction and construction works going on in Kedarnath Dham. During this, he instructed the District Magistrate and Superintending Engineer Lonivi that special care should be taken of the quality in the ongoing construction works in Kedarnath Dham.

He said that the availability of construction materials should remain constant in all executive institutions, so that there is no hindrance in the construction works. He also told the Superintending Engineer Lonivi that the necessary construction material to be made available through Chinook helicopter should be made available on priority. Along with this, instructions were also given to increase the number of laborers to get the construction works done at a faster pace.

While inspecting the construction works of the houses being built for the pilgrim priests in Kedarnath Dham, the CS said that it is necessary to speed up the work of the buildings being built for the priests. Where the pilgrimage priests are facing problems without buildings, on the other hand, the pilgrims who have come on pilgrimage from India and abroad are also facing problems.

He said that due to the ongoing construction work near the temple premises, there is a disturbance in the movement of passengers. In such a situation, the travel route should be diverted. With this, the work can be completed as soon as possible without any hindrance. Along with this, pilgrims will also get convenience. The Chief Secretary also interacted with the workers on this occasion and encouraged them.

He told the concerned officials that the workers in Kedarnath Dham are working in odd conditions and the workers should not face any kind of problem. Special care should be taken of their living, food and health. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit informed the Chief Secretary about the ongoing construction works in Kedarnath Dham.
