Odisha train accident is one of the worst train accidents in India

Rescue operation still going on
The injured in the train accident have been admitted to hospitals in Gopalpur, Kantapada, Balasore, Bhadrak and Soro for treatment. According to the information, the relief and rescue work is still going on. Several people were trapped in the derailed coaches and locals were helping emergency service personnel to rescue them, but the operation was hampered by darkness. According to Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, 7 NDRF, 5 ODRAF and 24 Fire Service units, local police, volunteers are working hard in search and rescue.
High level committee will investigate the accident
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that efforts are on to treat the injured. Also said that a high level committee will investigate this terrible accident and CRS will also conduct an independent investigation. For what reason this accident happened, it will be ascertained. Right now the focus is on rescue. How the accident happened, it will be known after the inquiry.
Rail accident affected many trains
About 92 other trains passing through this route have been affected by the train accident. As a result 43 trains were cancelled. At the same time, the route diversion of 38 trains was done. While 9 trains have been terminated. Apart from this, a train was rescheduled.
PM Modi took stock of the situation after talking to the Railway Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was distressed by the accident, and spoke to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to take stock of the situation. Declaration of compensation
With this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced compensation regarding the train accident in Odisha. Vaishnav has tweeted – Rs 10 lakh will be given to the family of each person who died in this unfortunate train accident in Odisha, Rs 2 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to the minor injured. Along with this, PM Modi announced an assistance of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000-50,000 for the injured.
Odisha CM announces state mourning
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced one day state mourning, canceling the State Day celebrations after the train accident. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee can visit Odisha today regarding the train accident. According to the DRM of Kharagpur Division of Railways, at least 13 trains have either been diverted or canceled after the train accident.
Inauguration ceremony of Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express canceled
The inauguration ceremony of the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express scheduled for Saturday morning has been canceled due to the train accident in Odisha. PM Modi was about to flag off this train. The ceremony was to be held at 10:30 in the morning.

Local people engaged in saving lives, long line started to donate blood
Many people who were victims of this train accident are undergoing treatment in the hospital. In such a situation, the local people have reached to donate blood. As a result, there has been a long queue of blood donors.
Dead bodies are being handed over to the families
