Daroga’s son Vijay became DGP in UP Police, got the award twice from the President by eliminating the militants

The inspiration received from the family environment in his childhood led the son of the inspector to the post of Director General of Police (DGP), the new head of the police department of the state. Khatibaba, IPS Vijay Kumar, resident of Prem Nagar, was appointed as acting DGP by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After passing the high school examination from the National Hafiz Siddiqui Inter College, he topped the board in the intermediate examination from the Government Inter College, while in the same class the state topper classmate was also studying in the high school.
B.Tech from IIT Kanpur
Meritorious since childhood, Vijay took admission in B.Tech in Civil Engineering branch from IIT Kanpur in the first attempt itself. After doing MTech from here, went to Delhi and prepared for competitive exams. From there he got selected in IPS.
Vijay Kumar’s native village is in Satoh of Jalaun district. Mother is Lajjawati, while brother Hemant Kumar is posted as a police inspector in Kanpur. The youngest brother Jaswant Kumar is working as a teacher in a private inter college in Jhansi. He is survived by wife Suman, two sons Anmol and Umang. Sister Manorama is in Lucknow. After the death of the father, it was the mother who took care of the family and made them eligible by being educated.

International archaeologist
Vijay Kumar is recognized as a police officer as well as an international archaeologist. He has made a deep study of the archaeological remains of Bundelkhand. A book of about 1,500 pages has also been written on the objects useful from the point of view of archeology in Chitrakoot, Banda and Lalitpur. Homemade personal museum
Vijay’s interest in archology can be gauged from the fact that he has built a private museum in the entire basement of his residence in Lucknow. In this, the stones of Bundelkhand and objects related to archeology have been kept. Vijay Kumar believes that very little work has been done to bring the heritage of Bundelkhand to the fore. There is a plan to bring Bundelkhand, including the temple of Deogarh (Lalitpur), in front of the world from the point of view of archaeology. After retirement in January 2024, efforts are on to create an institute and dedicate it to the nation.
Has been honored by the President twice
While being the SSP of Pilibhit, he had eliminated the militants. For this the President honored Vijay. Apart from this, the President honored him once more for his excellent work.
Son’s departure
When Vijay Kumar was on the post of IG Agra, his son died of dengue. The grief of his son’s demise still haunts him. There were so many disturbances in the society that on the death of the son, all the schools and colleges of Agra were voluntarily kept closed in mourning.
