Uttarakhand: CM Dhami planted trees on World Environment Day, 50-50 km cycle track in 4 districts including Dehradun

Cycle tracks of 50 km each will be made in four districts of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital, as well as possible cycle tracks will be made in 09 districts. Spring and River Rejuvenation Board will be formed in the state. CM Dhami also made this announcement.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal planted trees near the Chief Minister’s residence on the occasion of World Environment Day. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also presented jute bags to the students of the school. The Chief Minister announced that cycle tracks of 50 km each would be made in four districts of the state, Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital and cycle tracks would be made as far as possible in 09 districts. Spring and River Rejuvenation Board will be formed in the state. In all the 13 districts, each gram panchayat doing the best work in the field of cleanliness will be rewarded.

Public awareness campaign should be run

Taking a meeting of all the District Magistrates through virtual medium from the Chief Minister’s residence, the Chief Minister directed that regular public awareness campaigns should be conducted in the districts for environmental protection and continuous work should be done in this direction through various departments. He said that public cooperation should also be taken for tree plantation and cleanliness campaign. He said that for our future generations to get pure water, air, soil and environment, everyone has to pay attention towards environment protection. The rise in global temperature and fall in water level is a matter of concern for all.

5 main things to focus on

The Chief Minister said that most of the area of our state is covered with forests, for conservation of forests, we have to link its benefits with the livelihood of the people, which will increase employment based on ecology. The Chief Minister said that to save the soil, we have to focus on 5 main things. How to make soil chemical free. How do we save the organisms that live in the soil as natural organic fertilizers? How to maintain soil moisture and increase water availability to it. How to remove the damage caused to the soil due to depletion of ground water. How to stop the continuous erosion of soil due to reduction in forest cover.
