Telangana: Married priest of Hyderabad temple kills girlfriend for forcing marriage
Police have arrested a priest of a temple in Hyderabad on charges of murdering a woman with whom he had an extra-marital affair.
This shocking incident has come to light after a week on Friday. The priest had killed the woman a week ago and dumped her body in a manhole.
The priest of the Hyderabad temple is already married and the father of two children. He (the priest) had an extra-marital affair with Apsara, a resident of Saroornagar. Since the woman was pressurizing the priest for marriage, he conspired to kill her.
Venkata Sai Krishna, a temple priest in Saroornagar, killed the woman in Sultanpally and dumped the body in a manhole in Saroornagar area.
According to the police, he took Apsara in a car to Sultanpally Shamshabad mandal on the outskirts of the city. There was an argument between the two over the woman’s proposal for marriage. The priest killed him by hitting him on the head with a stone.
He tied the body in a bag and put it in the car and brought it back to Saroornagar, where he dumped it in a manhole. After this, the accused lodged a complaint with the Shamshabad police that his relative Apsara was missing since June 3.
Police filed the case and started investigations. When the police examine the CCTV footage and Sai Krishna’s mobile signal, they are shocked to learn that the complainant is the killer.
Police arrested Sai Krishna and he has also confessed his crime. The body was removed from the manhole and sent for postmortem.
