Canada: Punjab Police formed SIT in case of fake offer letter, students also got support from PM Trudeau

The Punjab Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the deportation of students from Canada. According to media reports, his agent in Jalandhar gave him a ‘fake offer letter’, due to which he is facing deportation. According to the students, they were initially unaware of this fraud.

The students said that he is completely innocent. On May 29, they started a protest at the gate of the Canadian Border Security Agency (CBSA) head office in Mississauga, Toronto, Canada regarding their issue. The demand of the students was that their problem should be solved as soon as possible.

It is unfair to punish the students’

The matter first came to light when he applied for permanent residency in Canada in March. In this matter, the reaction of Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has also come to the fore. He had said that it is unfair to punish students who have acted in good faith. According to him, the guilty should be held accountable.

Canadian MPs support the students

However, Canadian MPs from various political parties have also spoken in support of the students. At the same time, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also insisted on solving the problem of the students.
