‘Listen Draupadi…’, Vinesh Phogat shared this poem after the charge sheet was filed against Brij Bhushan Singh

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has shared a poem after Delhi Police filed a charge sheet against the outgoing President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Vinesh Phogat tweeted on Friday (June 16) with the hashtag ‘We Want Justice’ ‘Suno Draupadi Shastra Utha Lo’, a famous poem by Pushyamitra Upadhyay, a young poet living in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Some lines of the shared poem are as follows- ‘Listen, Draupadi utha utha, ab Govind na aayenge, chhodo mehndi khadag sambhalo, save your rags yourself…’

Wrestlers had suspended the movement on the assurance of charge sheet
Many veteran wrestlers of the country including Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, Olympian Vinesh Phogat have been demanding the arrest of Brijbhushan Sharan Singh for a long time. Brij Bhushan has faced serious allegations like sexual exploitation. The government had assured the agitating wrestlers that a charge sheet would be filed in the matter by June 15. After getting assurance from the government, the wrestlers suspended the agitation.
Delhi Police filed charge sheet against Brij Bhushan on June 15
The Delhi Police on Thursday (June 15) recommended quashing of the charges against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under POCSO and filed a charge sheet on the allegations of sexual harassment and stalking.
A cancellation report has been filed by the Delhi Police in the Patiala House Court regarding the sexual harassment case of a minor wrestler. The court will hear the cancellation report on July 4. At the same time, in the case of the allegations of six adult wrestlers against Singh, the police has filed a charge sheet in the Rouse Avenue Court, for which the court has fixed the date of June 22 for consideration.
