Uttarakhand: Who will become the minister? There may be reshuffle in Dhami cabinet, stir among BJP MLAs

Once again the discussions of cabinet expansion and reshuffle have intensified in Uttarakhand. It is believed that the BJP high command may soon expand the CM Dhami cabinet. Here, after the sudden meeting of several ministers with the governor, these discussions have also started gaining strength. If sources are to be believed, lobbying has also started among the BJP MLAs. In the CM Dhami cabinet, the posts of three ministers are lying vacant for the last one and a quarter years. Another post has become vacant after the sudden demise of cabinet minister Chandanram Das in April this year. Presently all his departments are being handled by Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami himself.
As the time for cabinet expansion is getting longer, the restlessness of the BJP MLAs is increasing. Many MLAs are also engaged in lobbying for ministerial posts. They have knocked in front of the high command many times. Here, the discussions of cabinet expansion and leave of two to three ministers have started again.
Party sources say that the feedback on the performance of the ministers has been sent to the high command. At present two big districts Haridwar and Nainital do not have representation in the cabinet. In detail, it is believed that one MLA from both these districts will get representation in the cabinet.
Since, Lok Sabha elections are also to be held next year. In such a situation, many MLAs have also raised hopes of expansion soon. On the other hand, a senior party leader says that till June 30, the organization’s mass public relations campaign will run across the country, so there is less scope for expansion and reshuffle during this period, but new faces can be seen in the cabinet any time in July.
After the courtesy meeting between Governor Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami two days ago, Cabinet Ministers Satpal Maharaj and Subodh Uniyal have also met the Governor on Tuesday. This has given rise to speculation. On the other hand, when contacted, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt says that cabinet expansion has to happen. Discussions have also been held in this regard with the high command, but the decision on this has to be taken by the Chief Minister only.
Right now the big public relations campaign of the party organization is going on. Therefore, only after this the high command can consider it. The high command has to take a decision only on the allocation of responsibilities in various corporations, boards and councils.
