Delhi: The person kept enjoying the five star hotel for free for 603 days, the hotel lost 58 lakhs, now the police is searching

An interesting case has come to light from a hotel in Delhi, where a man stayed in the hotel for almost two years, ate a lot of food and went out after checking out without paying a single penny. Now a complaint has been lodged with the police on behalf of the hotel regarding this matter. The owner of the hotel suspects that the man had colluded with some of the hotel staff, due to which he was enjoying the facilities of the hotel free of cost for two years. According to the hotel management, they have suffered a loss of about Rs 58 lakh due to this. Which is now ready to be recovered from the accused person.
Man stayed in hotel for 603 days
Actually this matter is of Aerocity located near Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Hotel Roset House has registered a case regarding this at the IGI Airport Police Station. Vinod Malhotra, an employee of Bird Airports Hotel Pvt Ltd, which operates Rosette, has lodged an FIR in this matter. According to this FIR, a guest named Ankush Dutta stayed in the hotel for about 603 days, whose bill was Rs 58 lakh. Although the person easily checked out without paying.
Official connivance
On behalf of the hotel management, the chief of its front office department, Prem Prakash, has been accused. It has been said in the complaint that keeping all the rules and regulations of the hotel, Prem Prakash allowed Ankush Dutta to stay in the hotel for a long time and let him go without paying the dues. Prem Prakash was given the responsibility of fixing the hotel room rates and tracking the outstanding bills of all the guests. The hotel management suspects that Prakash may have taken some cash from the guest by tampering with the hotel’s system. The connivance of some other hotel employees is also suspected in this matter.
Booked a room for one night
When the investigation was done from the hotel side, it was found that the accused Dutta had booked the hotel room for one night on 30 May 2019, after which he was to check out the next day on 31 May. But instead of checking out, he kept extending his stay. Dutta stayed at the hotel till January 22, 2021. According to the hotel SOP, if a guest does not pay for more than 72 hours, then the information has to be given to the higher authorities, although no one even got the news in this matter. Police has started the investigation of the matter.
