Uttarakhand: Government cautious about monsoon season, joint control room set up in Joshimath

In view of the monsoon in Uttarakhand, a joint control room has been set up in Joshimath by the government. Who is ready to deal with any unpleasant situation along with Chardham Yatra. Officers and employees of line departments including NDRF, SDRF have been deployed here.
Secretary Disaster Management Department Dr. Ranjit Sinha said that the state government is fully prepared to deal with possible disasters during monsoon in the state. He said that mock drills have already been done at the staging areas, joint control rooms, shelters, telecommunication, media management, crowd management etc. points to be made in case of disaster in sensitive districts. Along with this, instructions have been given to keep the preparations strong at the district level. Special instructions have been given to sensitive districts.
Secretary Ranjit Sinha said that all the District Magistrates have been directed to compulsorily conduct mock drills in the districts during a fixed time period. He said that the concerned department will nominate one of its senior officers as nodal officer to maintain contact with the districts in case of disaster, who will work to bring the problems of the districts to the appropriate level in time.
He said that food, water, medicines etc. have been sent to the districts, which they will store. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to mark the most sensitive places. Hoardings have also been asked to be put up on the routes with the contact details and details of the officials related to the disaster.
Apart from this, checking the status of available satellite phones, wireless sets etc., the report has been asked to be given to the government. He said that in this regard, an update on the preparedness of the districts so far will be taken by sitting at the government level soon. So that if there is any deficiency, it can be removed in time.
