Hong Kong: Tire burst on Cathay Pacific Airlines plane, passengers narrowly escaped

According to the information, Cathay Pacific flight CX880 was about to take off in the early hours of Saturday. Even before take off, 12 wheels of the plane burst. After this, this flight flying to Los Angeles had to be stopped. It is being told that after this, during the emergency evacuation, 11 passengers were also injured. There were a total of 293 passengers in this aircraft along with 17 crew members. Flames were also seen near the wheels after the tires of the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft burst. However, the pilot acted sensibly and averted a major accident by applying emergency brakes. However, no clear reason was given for the cancellation of the flight.
A spokesperson for the airline told Simple Flying that the aborted takeoff was the result of a “technical problem”, while a statement from Hong Kong International Airport said the aborted takeoff was due to a “signal discrepancy”. Meanwhile, the South China Morning Post reported that 12 wheels were damaged during take-off and flames were seen near the wheels. During this, 11 injured passengers were admitted to the hospital. Out of which 9 were discharged. Public broadcaster RTHK quoted police as saying that one of the plane’s tires burst due to overheating. Injured passengers were sent to hospital.
Airlines apologized
Cathay Pacific Airlines has issued a statement apologizing. The airlines said that passengers exited the aircraft using five door escape slides. He said that our partners will continue to help the two hospitalized passengers and their families. The airlines also apologized for the inconvenience caused to the customers.
