Rain continues in Uttarakhand, break on Kedarnath Yatra, CM Dhami reviews after reaching State Disaster Control Room

Kedarnath Yatra has been suspended due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that it is raining heavily from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. Passengers are not being sent ahead from Sonprayag and Gaurikund from 10.30 am. Earlier, till 8 am, a total of 5828 passengers had left for Kedarnath from Sonprayag. Pictures of damage including closure of roads due to heavy rains are coming out from across the state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Disaster Management Control Room.

Heavy rain brought disaster
The CM instructed the officers and employees to remain fully alert. Nine roads have been blocked due to rain in Dehradun. One state highway and nine rural roads were covered with debris. The machinery of the administration is busy in opening the roads, the monsoon has knocked in the state. Heavy rains have brought disaster at many places.
Due to the closure of many routes, the movement has become difficult, and somewhere the pictures of the damage due to the rise in the water level of the rivers have come to the fore. Air traffic at Dehradun airport was also affected due to heavy rain since morning. Due to which the first flight of Indigo could not land at the airport.
Rain alert
In both Garhwal and Kumaon divisions, many parts will be affected due to rain. However, the process of rain is going on for the last 72 hours. At the same time, rain has also been warned in Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts. Apart from this, on June 27 and 28, there are chances of heavy rains at some places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts.
