The government has implemented the Aadhaar card system to establish a unique identity for each citizen. To get the benefit of the facilities provided by the government, it is mandatory to link Aadhaar card with various services and documents including your gas connection.

• Collect the necessary documents
• Before starting the linking process, make sure that you have the following documents ready:

Aadhar card

Make sure that you have your original Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number with you.

Gas connection document

Keep your gas connection documents like gas consumer number or gas passbook handy.

Choose preferred mode

There are three methods available to link your Aadhaar with your gas connection:

Online method

• Follow these steps to link Aadhaar with your gas connection online:
• Visit the official website of your gas provider (eg, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, or Hindustan Petroleum).
• Look for “Aadhaar Seeding” or “Link Aadhaar” option on the website.
• Click on the link and enter the required details including your Aadhaar number, gas consumer number and registered mobile number.
• Verify the details and submit the form.
• Once submitted, you will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your registered mobile number.
• Enter OTP to complete the linking process.
• After successful verification, your Aadhaar will be linked to your gas connection.
• IVRS method

Many gas providers provide Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) facility to link Aadhaar. Follow these steps:

• Dial the designated toll-free number provided by your gas provider.
• Select preferred language.
• Follow the instructions and provide the required details like Aadhaar number and gas consumer number.
• Verify the details and complete the process as indicated by the IVRS.
  offline method
• If you prefer physical travel, you can link Aadhaar with your gas connection offline:
• Visit the nearest gas distributor office or customer care centre.
• Carry your original Aadhaar card and a photocopy.
• Fill the Aadhaar linking form available in the office or request the form from the personnel.
• Submit the filled form along with the photocopy of your Aadhaar card.
• After verification, the personnel will provide an acknowledgment receipt.

Do verification

• After completing the linking process in any of the above ways, you will receive a verification message on your registered mobile number or through email. The verification message confirms that your Aadhaar card has been successfully linked with your gas connection.
