Uttarakhand: Ban on the process of giving PPP / lease to Bajpur Sugar Mill Aswani, Leader of Opposition met CM with delegation

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and expressed his protest regarding giving PPP/lease to Aswani, a co-unit of Bajpur Sugar Mill. After the talks, the Chief Minister instructed the MD of Uttarakhand Sugar to stop the tender process immediately. On Thursday, a delegation of farmers of the region led by Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya met the Chief Minister in Dehradun. The delegation demanded the Chief Minister to cancel the tender process in the interest of farmers and the region. Talking to the MD of Uttarakhand Sugar, Uday Raj, the Chief Minister directed to immediately stop the ongoing tender process for the distillery of Bajpur Sugar Mill. Arya handed over the DPR and demand letter prepared for distillery modernization to the CM. The CM assured to start the process of modernization of the distillery after conducting an early inspection. There were Kisan Congress State President Harendra Singh Ladi, DK Joshi, Municipal President Gurjit Singh, Block President Pawan Sharma, Sugar Mill Workers Union leader Virendra Singh, Jagjit Singh, District Kisan Congress President Navdeep Singh etc.

Demand to solve the land related problem of 20 villages of Bajpur

Gadarpur. Farmers associated with the Bharatiya Kisan Union apolitical submitted an eight-point memorandum to the Chief Minister in Dehradun. The people who met under the leadership of national spokesperson Dharmendra Malik on Thursday demanded ownership rights to many farmers on barren and class 5 land. In the memorandum, he demanded a solution to the pending land related problem of 20 villages of Bajpur in the interest of the farmers. State President Salwinder Singh Kalsi said that after completing the construction of Gadarpur’s new market, the new market should be started before the purchase of Kharif crop 2023. Apart from this, action was also raised on other demands. There were Ashok Balyan, Vikram Singh Goraya, Amandeep Singh Bathla, Digambar Singh, Anuj Kumar etc.
