Uttarakhand: Running away from the discussion, Congress is now pretending to read the UCC draft, protesting on issues of public interest is the tradition of Congress, the public knows the purpose of the protest – Mahendra Bhatt

The BJP questioned the attitude of the Congress on the UCC that neither the party participated in the discussion nor read the draft, so with what intention is it protesting? BJP State President Mr. Mahendra Bhatt said that the BJP is taking decisions in the public interest in the state and the Congress, which is running a workshop of corruption and appeasement in the state while in power, is spreading confusion instead of participating in the ongoing opinion polls on the subject. He said that from Congress in-charge to all senior leaders are talking about saying something after reading the first draft. Then what is the noise that is being made by the Congress. Is the Congress already preparing the ground for protest by spreading confusion about the issue?

Describing the statement of other leaders including former CM and Leader of Opposition as sad, he said that Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has made it clear that the customs of any religion or community will not change with the coming of UCC. There will be equal law for all. Opinions of 2.31 lakh people were taken for preparing the draft. Opinions of religion, community and stakeholders were taken in this. The customs and rituals of all the communities and tribes in Uttarakhand have also been discussed in detail, as well as the practices being followed in different states of the country have also been studied by the committee. The draft will be legally examined.

BJP President Bhatt said that the Congress has to oppose any decision of public interest by taking out a mean while it could have played the role of a positive opposition by giving suggestions to the government on the basis of merits and demerits.

Bhatt said that the intention of the Congress has become clear. The public knows whom he is worried about. His appeasement face has been exposed earlier also. The residents of the state want a uniform law in the state, but the Congress is instigating the issue and disrespecting public sentiments.

He said that after spreading all the rumors regarding UCC, now the public understands the gimmick of the Congress leaders to read the first draft.

He said that when opinion was being sought from the public and all communities on this issue, the Congress did not understand what it had to do on this and ran away from the issue. He also declined the all-party invitation. Now again she is pretending to go in public to take opinion which is ridiculous.

BJP’s stand on this issue is clear that a law is needed in the country and it is part of its election manifesto. BJP stands with public sentiments on any issue of public interest.
