Protest against the proposed Integrated Township has started in Doiwala of Dehradun district. A mahapanchayat has been organized in Doiwala on 26th July to protest against the Integrated Township. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait also participated in the mahapanchayat. Rakesh Tikait said that he will not let even an inch of farmers’ land go. Addressing the farmers, Rakesh Tikait, National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, said that the BJP government is anti-farmer, which is preparing to buy the farmers’ land at cheap prices and give it to the capitalists, but the farmers of the whole of India are united and doiwala Standing with the farmers of Rakesh Tikait said that he will not let anyone take even an inch of farmers’ land.
Rakesh Tikait alleged that the Modi government has been sold in the hands of industrialists. Buying the land of the farmers at throwaway prices, she is giving it to the capitalists. The central government is the enemy of the farmers’ lands. There is a difference between the words and actions of the BJP government. Farmers will not allow the government’s intention to be fulfilled.
In fact, it is discussed that the government is going to acquire the land of many villages in Doiwala and make an integrated township there. Since then the farmers of Doiwala are agitating. Yesterday, on July 25, Congress state president Karan Mahra and former CM Harish Rawat also opposed this decision of the government. He also called this decision of the government as anti-farmer.
