Rs 168 crore transferred to 760148 farmer families of Uttarakhand under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana… Dhami thanked the Center

Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, an amount of Rs 168 crore has been transferred to 760148 beneficiary farmer families of Uttarakhand through 14th installment DBT. Along with this, Uttarakhand has got the target of forming 300 Farmer Producer Groups (FPOs), against which 207 FPOs have been formed in the state. On Thursday, the farmers present in Dehradun from all over the state listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the farmers from across the country from Sikar, Rajasthan through virtual medium.

Addressing the farmers from all over the state present in the program on this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done the work of strengthening the farmers of the country. The Union Agriculture budget has increased from 23000 crores in the year 2014 to 125000 crores at present. This increase in agriculture budget is more than five times. Agriculture and farmers’ welfare is the priority of the Center and the State Government. Farmers are getting full benefits of all the schemes through DBT. The Cabinet Minister has instructed the officials to work on the plan to open Kisan Call Center at Kisan Bhawan in Dehradun.

Secretary Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary informed that under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, 760148 farmer families of Uttarakhand have been benefited, to whom an amount of Rs 168 crore has been transferred today through 14th installment DBT. Along with this, Uttarakhand has got the target of formation of 300 Farmer Producer Groups (FPOs), against which 207 FPOs have been formed in the state. At least 100 cultivators are placed in one FPO in the hill states. Government of India has a visionary thinking behind the formation of FPO. The Central Government has set a target of making 10000 FPOs in the next three years with Rs.6865 crores. Uttarakhand government has also implemented many ambitious schemes for the development of agriculture in the state. Among these Natural Farming Scheme, Namami Gange Natural Farming Scheme, Miletus Scheme, Local Species Promotion Scheme and development of means of irrigation etc. are prominent. To encourage the cultivation of fruits, vegetables and flowers in the state, there is a target to build 8000 polyhouses in the next 1-2 years. For this, applications can be made by the cultivators in the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. The aim of the state government is to increase the income of the farmers. District Magistrates have been instructed to make available space in the markets for local products processed by self-help groups.
