Players found fallen lizard in porridge in Mohali, 48 players fell ill; Sports Minister ordered an inquiry
Panic prevailed at the Sports Complex located in Phase-9 on Saturday morning when a lizard was found in the diet (porridge) given to the players. When the matter of lizard coming out after eating porridge came to light, many children started vomiting. 48 children were taken to Civil Hospital Phase-6.
After the treatment, the doctors said that everyone’s condition is out of whack. He has been discharged from the hospital. Director Sports Harpreet Singh Sudan has stopped the services of the mess and has constituted a committee and ordered an inquiry. At present, food is being arranged for the players from outside. During this, the Food Safety Wing of the Health Department inspected the mess.

The team finds dirt in the mess. The children were horrified after finding a lizard in the porridge. Former councilor of Phase-6 RP Sharma told that he had also reached the hospital. He inquired about the condition of the children. The children told that in the morning they were given porridge for food, which after eating it came to know that a lizard had fallen in it. Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair has called for the report within three days.
In this regard, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi has demanded an inquiry into the matter and registration of an FIR against the contractor. He told that the warden of the sports complex instead of giving information about the matter kept misbehaving with the journalists. It is said that in January this year, the Sports Minister had made a surprise visit to the mess of the Sports Complex. During that time he had found many shortcomings here.
