The march, which started from the Uttarakhand border to Kali Mandir, reached the Meerut Commissionerate Chaudhary Charan Singh Park here on Sunday, demanding the creation of a separate state for Western Uttar Pradesh. Where the founder / president and office bearers of Guru Gorakhnath Kamdhenu Gau Seva Samiti welcomed the march and garlanded the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh ji located at the Commissionerate Park. Padyatra coordinator Rajeev Ujjwal told that the population of the state is 25 crore. This is equal to the population of 16 small states. We have not been able to establish any identity due to the difference of cultural and language of Paschimanchal. Due to being a very large state, there is always a problem of law and order.
Said that Paschimanchal has always been a victim of neglect by all the governments. The capital is 500 kms from one end of Paschimanchal and the High Court is 850 kms away. Due to lack of access to justice, the world’s most expensive justice is given to the people of this region.
Due to all the commissions, headquarters, ministries of the government being in Lucknow or Allahabad, the common man has to suffer a lot. Total 72 percent revenue of Uttar Pradesh is received from here. It costs 18 to 20 percent. Paschimanchal has been deprived of having institutions like AIIMS, IIT, IIM, NIT. Our children lag behind in sports due to lack of sports facilities and not even a single SAI is established. The state has always been backward in terms of transport facilities. It is a sugarcane producing area, but the farmers do not get the price of their crop on time.
