Uttarakhand: CM Dhami took a meeting regarding revenue collection, gave instructions to officials to regularly monitor revenue collection

All the departments should work with alertness and full activeness to increase the revenue. All the departments should work in coordination to get the fixed revenue this year. All the departments should make innovative efforts for revenue generation, for this special attention should be paid towards strengthening the online system. The decisions that are being taken in the meetings, the action taken report of those decisions should be presented before the next meeting. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave these instructions to the officials while taking a meeting in the secretariat regarding receipt of revenue.
The Chief Minister instructed the officers that regular monitoring of revenue collection should be done, for this a portal should be developed. This will solve the problem of difference between the data of revenue collection given by various departments and the data of revenue collection in the Revenue Council. The Chief Minister instructed all the District Magistrates to speed up the process of revenue collection. For this, regular meeting of the committee formed in the districts should be held. He said that there is a need to speed up revenue collection in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udhamsinghnagar and Nainital districts. The Chief Minister said that UPCL and UJVNL need special efforts in the direction of increasing revenue in the field of energy. Continuous vigilance-based activities should be carried out in areas prone to power theft and special attention should be paid towards increasing billing efficiency in areas with high industrial demand. More efforts should be made in the direction of increasing revenue through better utilization of forest resources. Work should be done expeditiously in the direction of commercial plantation in Terai areas. Proper arrangement should be made for soft sale. Work should be done keeping in mind the long term plan for conservation and sustainable development of herbs. Attention should be paid towards channelizing the rainwater drains under the forest area by marking them.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to accelerate the pace of recovery compared to the previous years. The online system should be further improved for intensive monitoring in the areas of transport, mining, GST etc. More efforts should be made to increase the revenue growth under GST. Strict action should be taken against tax evaders. Best practices of other states for GST collection should also be studied in depth. The Chief Minister said that due to excessive rainfall, the water level of the rivers is constantly hovering around the danger mark, and flood situation persists in many of its areas. A concrete action plan should be prepared by the Irrigation Department to prevent flood situation. The District Magistrate should also work keeping all these things in mind from the point of view of disaster management.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials that efforts should be made to promote industries in the hilly areas of the state. Investors will be encouraged to invest in hilly areas in the investor summit to be held in the state. All the District Magistrates should see that in which areas there are more possibilities of investment in their districts. The Chief Minister instructed that the grant received from the Government of India should be expedited. The overall development of the state is the collective responsibility of all of us.
