Modi cabinet’s big decision, Vishwakarma scheme and PM e-bus service approved

The Union Cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday (August 16) under the chairmanship of PM Modi. In which many big decisions were taken. Giving information about the decisions of the Union Cabinet after the meeting, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that PM e-Bus Sewa has been approved.

He said that Rs 57,613 crore would be spent on this. About 10,000 new electric buses will be made available across the country. Out of Rs 57,613 crore, Rs 20,000 crore will be given by the central government.

PM e-bus service approved

Anurag Thakur said that this scheme will cover cities with population of 3 lakh and above. Under this scheme, city bus operations will be done with 10,000 e-buses on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. This scheme will support bus operation for 10 years.

Vishwakarma scheme also approved

At the same time, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that PM Modi had announced the Vishwakarma scheme for artisans in his Independence Day speech. The cabinet has approved Rs 13,000 crore Vishwakarma scheme.

30 lakh artisan families will be benefited

He said that with this, loans up to Rs 1 lakh will be given to artisans at 5 percent. Vishwakarma Yojana will benefit 30 lakh artisan families. There are many classes in small towns who are engaged in skill-related works under the Guru-Shishya tradition. These include blacksmiths, potters, masons, washermen, flower workers, fish net weavers, locksmiths, sculptors etc.

Railway’s seven multi-tracking projects also got approval

Ashwini Vaishnav told that apart from this, the cabinet approved the expansion of Digital India program with an expenditure of Rs 14,903 crore. DigiLocker is currently available only for citizens and now has over 400 million customers. Soon a new extension of DigiLocker will be launched for MSMEs. The Union Cabinet has also approved seven multi-tracking projects of Indian Railways.
